طالبان - تعلن قتل أعلى رتبة بالجيش الامريكي بـأفغانستان

نشرت حركة "‫#‏طالبان‬" الأفغانية، اليوم الأربعاء، عبر صفحتها صورًا للميجور جنرال "‫#‏هارولد_غرين‬"، والتي تعادل رتبته رتبة اللواء في الدول العربية، بعد مقتله وقبل مقتله، وأعلنت أنه أعلى رتبة أمريكية يتم قتلها منذ أحداث 11 سبتمبر، كما تم قتل منفذ العملية، نتيجة تبادل إطلاق النار، بعد أختراقة لمركز عسكري امريكي بالعاصمة "‫#‏كابول‬".

وأعلنت وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية (‫#‏البنتاجون‬)، في بيانٍ رسمي نشرته "رويترز"، مساء أمس الثلاثاء، عن مقتل جنرال أمريكي في إطلاق نار داخل أحد مراكز التدريب العسكرية في "‫#‏أفغانستان‬"، ليكون بذلك أول ضابط أمريكي كبير يلقى مصرعه خلال الحربين في "‫#‏العراق‬" و"أفغانستان".

وأوضح المتحدث باسم "البنتاجون"، "‫#‏جون_كيربي‬"، في تصريحٍ صحفي، أن الهجوم، الذي شنه مسلح يرتدي زي الجيش الأفغاني على الأكاديمية العسكرية، الواقعة بالقرب من العاصمة الأفغانية، "كابول"، أسفر عن إصابة 15 شخصًا آخرين وصفت معظمها بالخطيرة.

وأشار إلى أن الشخص، الذي شن الهجوم لقى مصرعه، خلال تبادل إطلاق النار، فيما اعترف "كيربي" بأن الضابط الذي قتل، هو الأعلى رتبة الذي يلقى مصرعه منذ هجمات 11 سبتمبر عام 2001.

U.S. General Killed in Afghanistan Identified as Major General Harold Greene

The U.S. General killed in the August 5 green-on-blue attack at Camp Qargha, Afghanistan, has been identified as Major General Harold Greene.

Breitbart News reported that the attack took place around noon with, at that time, approximately 15 wounded and one U.S. officer killed.

The Associated Press reports that General Greene was the officer who lost his life.

Green's Army bio indicates he was "the Deputy for Military Acquisition and System Management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology)."

Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said of the approximately 15 shot during the Camp Qargha attack, some were "seriously wounded" and some received "only minor injuries." He said the Pentagon "believes" the gunman "was an Afghan soldier." He said there are "no indications that he was anything other than a member of the Afghan National Security forces."
